“Portrait of the Artist as a Young Friend” is 100% stainless steel aged chardonnay, named after the first novel by writer James Joyce, “A Portrait of the of the Artist a Young Man.” 

The novel follows a semi-fictional alter ego, Stephen Dedalus (named after the craftsman who built wings of wax and feathers for his son Icarus) through his education and growth in school and early adulthood, a bildungsroman about religion, identity, mythology, morality, and adolescence. Joyce struggled to write this novel, at one point throwing it into the fire, only to be rescued by his family. 

The photos on the label are of the friends that came together to help me with the first labeling and waxing, with winemaking advice, support, and friendship.
